"Unfortunately, Senator Feinstein is unable to meet with you due to multiple scheduling 'conflicts.'"

A.K.A. THE CASE OF "GEE, LADIES, THAT'S FUNNY, 'CAUSE I NEVER ASKED FOR A SPECIFIC DATE, YET."
OH, PLAYING HARD TO GET? HARDLY THE WAY TO TREAT A GENTLEMAN'S FIRST REQUEST. I'LL TAKE A "STAB" AT IT AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENED. BAD DATE NIGHT? I HAVE CERTAIN CONFLICTS, tOO. LIKE WHO IS GOING TO DIE FIRST, AND WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT DEBRA YANG? AND THE "UNBIASED" JUDGE A. HOWARD MATZ. YOU APPOINTED HIM.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)
has raised questions about Yang's departure as U.S. attorney in light of the subsequent firing of seven US
Attorneys. Yang's office had opened an investigation into the
relationship between Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-CA) and a lobbyist five months before she left to join the law firm that represented Rep. Lewis.
The balance of powers doctrine is alive and well

The impeachment trial of U.S. District Judge Robert Porteous is showing the media and American people that the balance of powers doctrine is alive and well. Porteous, 63, who sits on the federal court in the Eastern District of Louisiana, goes on trial this week before a 12 member U.S. Senate committee.
The U.S. Justice Department initially refused to prosecute Proteous on grounds of insufficient evidence. But a House Judiciary Committee task force headed up by California Congressman Adam Schiff exercised it’s Article I jurisdiction under the U.S. Constitution and overrode DOJ’s decision.
Like its counter-part in the Senate, the House Judiciary Committee has jurisdiction over judges, court personnel and the administration of justice in the federal court system.
According to his articles of impeachment, Porteous displayed a "pattern of corrupt practices."
Although appointment to the House Appropriations Committee required Schiff to relinquish his other committee assignments, he was granted a special concession to hold his House Judiciary seat so he could draw on his experience in oversight of the courts and Justice Department.
In discussing the Proteous impeachment, Schiff, a former federal prosecutor noted that litigants "have the right to expect a judge hearing their case will be fair and impartial, and avoid even the appearance of impropriety. "
Judge Proteous’ trial can be seen on the Senate Website, C-SPAN and CNN’s live video streaming.

Dear Kate, may I please have the mailing address for Lane Dilg, as well? Or may I assume it is the same as yours? I ask only because I try to never assume anything, lately, it seems like it's probably a prudent thing to do at this point of the process.
